Neuer Scientific-Use-File der Startkohorte 1 (Neugeborene) veröffentlicht
Für die NEPS-Startkohorte 1 stehen ab sofort die neuen Daten der Version 9.0.0 für wissenschaftliche Analysezwecke zur Verfügung.
Der aktuelle Scientific-Use-File (doi:10.5157/NEPS:SC1:9.0.0) enthält neu hinzugekommene Informationen aus der neunten Erhebungswelle der Startkohorte der Neugeborenen. Die Durchführung erfolgte in einem Zeitraum von März bis September 2020. Vorgesehen waren persönlich-mündliche Interviews mit den Erziehungsberechtigten der Kinder sowie drei Kompetenztests mit den Kindern (Lesegeschwindigkeit, frühe Lesekompetenz und Mathematik) als technologiebasierte-Testung (TBT) an einem Tablet-PC. Aufgrund der Corona-Pandemie musste das CAPI-Feld nach drei Wochen gestoppt werden; im Juni wurde die Erhebung als CAPI-by-Phone wieder aufgenommen. In diesem Modus führten die CAPI-Interviewerinnen die Befragungen telefonisch von zu Hause aus durch. Die TBT-Testung wurde in ein Online-Format überführt, bei dem die Zielkinder die Aufgaben auf einem heimischen Tablet oder Computer bearbeiteten und die Interviewerinnen die Testung aktiv begleiteten. New Scientific Use File of Starting Cohort 1 (Newborns) released
New data for the NEPS Starting Cohort 1 are now available in version 9.0.0 for scientific use.
The current Scientific Use File (doi:10.5157/NEPS:SC1:9.0.0) contains newly added information from the nineth wave of the NEPS newborns’ starting cohort. The survey was conducted in a period from March to September 2020. It was planned to conduct face-to-face interviews with the children’s legal guardians and to administer three competence tests to the children (reading speed, early reading, and mathematics) as technology-based testing (TBT) on a tablet PC. Due to the Corona pandemic, the CAPI field had to be stopped after three weeks; the survey was then continued again in June as CAPI-by-Phone. In this mode, the CAPI interviewers conducted the interviews by telephone from their homes. The TBT test was converted to an online format in which the target children completed the tasks on a tablet or computer at home and the interviewers actively supervised the testing.
