Neuer Scientific-Use-File der Startkohorte 5 (Studierende) veröffentlicht
Für die NEPS-Startkohorte 5 stehen ab sofort die neuen Daten der Version 17.0.0 für wissenschaftliche Analysezwecke zur Verfügung.
Der aktuelle Scientific-Use-File (doi:10.5157/NEPS:SC5:17.0.0) enthält neu hinzugekommene Daten aus der siebzehnten Erhebungswelle der Startkohorte der Studierenden. Die Feldzeit reichte von November 2020 bis Januar 2021. Im Rahmen der Online-Befragung (CAWI) wurden nach einer Statusabfrage jeweils verschiedene Module für Studierende, für Personen im Lehramt, für Erwerbstätige, für Übergänge (in ein Masterstudium, in einen Beruf) und für Promovierende abgefragt. Ergänzt wurde die Erhebung in dieser Welle durch Fragen nach dem Demokratieverständnis sowie zur Corona-Pandemie. Für die Lehramtsstudierenden bzw. Lehramtsabsolventen und erwerbstätigen Lehrern der Basisstichprobe sowie die Befragten des Lehramts-Oversample war erneut ein lehramtsspezifisches Fragenprogramm implementiert. Eine Testung von Kompetenzen fand in dieser Welle nicht statt. Ausführliche Hinweise zum Inhalt und zur Realisierung der neuen Erhebungswelle enthält der entsprechende Methodenbericht auf der Webseite im Bereich „Dokumentation“. Dort können auch das Data Manual als Einstieg in die Arbeit mit den Daten, die Release Notes mit Erläuterungen zur aktuellen Datenedition sowie zahlreiche weitere Materialien abgerufen werden.

New Scientific Use File of Starting Cohort 5 (First-Year Students) released
New data for the NEPS Starting Cohort 5 are now available in version 17.0.0 for scientific use.
The current Scientific Use File (doi:10.5157/NEPS:SC5:17.0.0) contains new data from the seventeenth wave of the NEPS starting cohort of first-year students. The fieldwork period ranged from November 2020 to January 2021. In the course of the online survey (CAWI), different modules for students, for persons in the teaching profession, for employed persons, for transitions (to a master’s program, to a profession) and for doctoral students were asked after a respective status query. The survey was supplemented by questions on the understanding of democracy and on the Corona pandemic. For the student teachers, teacher training graduates and employed teachers of the basic sample as well as for the teacher training oversample, a special set of questions about the teaching profession was again implemented. There was no testing of competencies in this wave. The Field Report on the website in the section „Documentation“ provides detailed information on the content and the realization of this survey wave. There you will also find the Data Manual as an introduction to working with the data, the Release Notes with explanations on the current data edition, and numerous other materials.
