Verknüpftes Datenangebot NEPS-SC4-ADIAB und NEPS-SC6-ADIAB erweitert
Neue Versionen der 2018 bzw. 2019 erstmals veröffentlichten Datenpakete aus Erhebungsdaten des Nationalen Bildungspanels in Verbindung mit administrativen Daten des Instituts für Arbeitsmarkt- und Berufsforschung sind ab sofort für die Startkohorte 4 (Klasse 9, NEPS-SC4-ADIAB) und die Startkohorte 6 (Erwachsene, NEPS-SC6-ADIAB) für wissenschaftliche Analysen verfügbar. Mit der Aktualisierung erweitert sich der Datenhorizont der administrativen Informationen um zwei Jahre bis einschließlich 2021. Zudem reichen die NEPS-Daten nun bis Welle 13 (SC4) und Welle 14 (SC6).
NEPS-ADIAB ist ein gemeinsam vom Leibniz-Institut für Bildungsverläufe (LIfBi) und dem Institut für Arbeitsmarkt- und Berufsforschung (IAB) verantwortetes Datenangebot. Die erweiterten Datenpakete NEPS-SC4-ADIAB und NEPS-SC6-ADIAB setzen sich aus den im Scientific-Use-File enthaltenen Informationen der NEPS-Panelstudien „Schule und Ausbildung" (SC4) sowie „Erwachsenenbildung und lebenslanges Lernen" (SC6) einerseits und Informationen aus dem administrativen Datenbestand des IAB inklusive Beschäftigtenhistorik, Leistungsempfängerhistorik, Leistungshistorik Grundsicherung, Arbeitssuchendenhistorik und Maßnahmeteilnahmehistoriken andererseits zusammen – sofern die Befragten ihre Zustimmung zur Verknüpfung der Daten erteilt haben und in den Daten des IAB identifiziert werden konnten. Die Kombination der Datenquellen ermöglicht insbesondere die Bearbeitung von Fragestellungen, die auf detaillierte Einkommensdaten im Lebensverlauf oder auf Betriebsinformationen angewiesen sind. Aufgrund datenschutzrechtlicher Vorgaben ist der Zugang zu diesem Datenbestand nur im Rahmen eines Gastaufenthalts an einem der Standorte des IAB-FDZ und anschließender Datenfernverarbeitung möglich. Voraussetzung ist der Abschluss eines Datennutzungsvertrags mit dem FDZ-LIfBi und dem IAB-FDZ.
Bereits für die Nutzung von NEPS-ADIAB registrierte Forschende können mit bestehendem Vertrag beim Forschungsdatenzentrum der Bundesagentur für Arbeit im Institut für Arbeitsmarkt- und Berufsforschung (IAB-FDZ) formlos ein Update des entsprechenden Datenpakets beantragen.

Linked data packages NEPS-SC4-ADIAB and NEPS-SC6-ADIAB extended
New versions of linked survey data from the National Educational Panel Study with administrative data of the Institute for Employment Research are now available for Starting Cohort 4 (Grade 9, NEPS-SC4-ADIAB) and Starting Cohort 6 (Adults, NEPS-SC6-ADIAB). With the update, the data horizon of the administrative information has been widened by two years up to and including 2021. In addition, the NEPS data now cover up to wave 13 (SC4) and wave 14 (SC6).
NEPS-ADIAB is a data product jointly provided by the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi) and the Institute for Employment Research (IAB). The NEPS-SC4-ADIAB and NEPS-SC6-ADIAB data consist of the information contained in the Scientific Use File of the NEPS panel study „School and Vocational Training“ (SC4) and „Adult Education and Lifelong Learning“ (SC6) respectively as well as of information from the IAB’s administrative data portfolio including employee history, benefit recipient history, unemployment benefit II recipient history, jobseeker history, and participants-in-measures history – insofar as the respondents have given their consent to the linkage of the data and could be identified in the IAB data. The combination of the data sources makes it possible to address new research questions, in particular questions that rely on detailed income data over the life course or on establishment information. Due to data protection regulations, access to NEPS-ADIAB data is only possible in the context of a guest stay at one of the IAB-FDZ locations and subsequent remote data processing. Prerequisite is the conclusion of a data use agreement with both the FDZ-LIfBi and the IAB-FDZ.
Researchers who are already registered to use NEPS-ADIAB can apply informally for an update of the corresponding data package by sending an e-mail to the Research Data Center of the Federal Employment Agency at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB-FDZ).
